Serena Rowe

Serena Rowe has been painting with oils since she was a young girl. Constantly seduced by the colour and forms found in Nature and in the beauty of found objects, Serena seeks to capture a feeling in her work. Her paintings always start with a compulsion, an emotional connection, and once that is set, she paints quickly and instinctively.

Serena works from life, but also draws inspiration from poetry, film and memory. Her sketchbooks are filled with charcoal drawings from the National Gallery to observations of the everyday. Serena has exhibited her work at the Royal Academy, the Royal Glasgow Institute, and the NEAC, among others. She has been exhibiting with Panter and Hall since 2005.

She is an avid reader, loves to dance and is happiest by the sea. She is currently based in South East London with her three children, a dog and a peripatetic tortoise.
